Theme of the Show: Dying and the Arts: Poetry
Guest: Richard Thierrien
Sleeping in Tall Grass, Paperback
Lead Host: Abegael Fisher-Lang
Richard Therrien, an accomplished writer and editor living in North Vancouver, recently completed a cycle of poems about his brother’s passing.
Sleeping in Tall Grass centres around Prairie nature & family life, memory and longing. It has just been published by the prestigious University of Alberta Press in the Robert Kroetsch Series.
Richard will be in the studio with us, talking about the art and play of poetry in the midst of ‘big life events’. We will hear some exquisite poems and explore the themes of poetic practice, therapeutic writing and how language can inform our experiences of death and dying.
